One of the largest rewards of shopping at Portal de la Marina is the fact that it fully captures the Mediterranean character of the area and offers the perfect representation of the style and needs of those who live in Javea, Denia and surrounding towns.
There is almost nothing you could want that cannot be found in the wide and spacious Portal de la Marina mall. The innovative open structure is filled with top designers, leisure services, specialised stores, and all of the best mall food options from Mexican to pasta, McDonalds. and coffee shops, as well as other offerings such as crepes. In the same complex is the large and popular American food joint Fosters Hollywood
The open structure is conceptually charming and the bright Mediterranean colours make it a fun experience to just browse even if shopping is not your thing. The dining area in particular is astounding with a massive escalator designed to match and compliment the layout.
The Portal de la Marina Mall is also perfect for families and those that are in need of small repairs and other similar errands. For example, you can easily spend a few hours out at a few of the many special attractions located within the mall just for small children.
From bounce houses to play areas children will be delighted, although these concessions seem to come and go on a month by month basis. The up-side is that while you take care of your errands such as clothing repair from the seamstress or shoe repair and key copying from Mister Mint. At certain times of the year the mall also welcomes special attractions such as Santa Claus or visits from the Nickelodeon Kid’s Tour turning into a fantastic place to spend an entire day.
There is a fuel stop and a bus stop at the mall so getting there should not be too difficult if you do not know the area. Visitors often take the cab, and all taxi drivers will know the location if you simply tell them you want to go to the Portal de la Marina. If you drive parking is always free and plentiful, this may seem obvious but at many shopping malls in Spain, such as in Valencia Mall parking is pretty exorbitant.
Some of the top high street names in the Porta de la Marina include H&M, C&A, Lefties, Mango, Zara, and Benetton. There is also a large supermarket, Eroski, in the heart of the mall so that you can get any groceries you need while also picking up some fun treats at the mobile phone shop, clothes shops, furniture stores, and more. You can even kick back and kill a few hours at the large cinema in the middle of the shopping centre that offers state of the art technology on all of its screens (at the time of writing all movies are dubbed into Spanish).
Around the mall there are other stores such as Aldi supermarket, a large ‘Chinese’ shop, next to a golfing supply shop as well as an Aki hardware superstore.
