What is your name?                                                                              Carol O’Gorman

How old are you?                                                                                       68

Where were you born?                                                        Buckinghamshire UK

Were do you live now?                                                                          Split my time between Moraira and UK with the intention of eventually spending all my time in Spain”

How long have you lived in the area?                                                        35 years, My children spent large amounts of time here growing up, they are now in their 40s and still love it here. In fact my daughter is trying very hard to offer her children the same opportunities in in Spain that she had growing up, partly because she always felt very safe and the atmosphere is very sociable.”

Are you living alone or with your family?                                          With husband and a rescue Chihuahua dog”

How often do you visit your home country?                                        My mum is not very well, so I need to go home every three of four weeks”

Retired or working (If working what do you do?)                                   I was retired, but I got very bored so I started my own clothing design company which I operate from Spain and the UK, I am still trying to retire again.” Onelife Clothing

Do you speak Spanish and do you think it’s important to speak the local language?                                                                                         A little, I have never had a lesson, although it is important, and I should learn”

What about housing, have you bought, or are you renting a home? How much do or did you pay for it?                                                      35 years ago, I think we paid around £10,000 for it at the time”

What is your Favourite thing about living in this area?                    The climate, being outside, and it is easier to meet people here.”

What is the worst thing about living in the area?                                Nothing, I cant think of a single thing”

What is the cost of living in Spain compared to your home country?   Very good, not as good as it was a few years ago, or even a year ago, but still cheaper than the UK”

How would you rate the healthcare in Spain?                                    Very good, excellent,”

Do you have any tips for our readers about living in Spain?         Learn the language and have a good English speaking lawyer. Learn about the culture it is different and you need to understand that.”

Is there any advice you would give anyone considering moving here?                                                                                                                    Come and live here, for at least a few months, and rent somewhere, do not buy at first.”
