Montgo National Park Javea’s stunning Mountain

If you are in Northern Costa Blanca it is hard not to notice the skyline of the Montgo National Park as the mountain evenly splits Denia from Javea. The Montgo Mountain reaches heights of 750m and almost seems to lift off directly from the valley floor, and it houses some of the most unique fauna and flora in Spain along its eye-catching craggy cliff faces.

Church of Our Lady of Loreto Javea

The Iglesia de Nuestra Senora do Loreto translates as Church of our Lady of Loreto and is found in the port area of Javea, if you look up from the end of the port area its pretty easy to spot nestled  in the narrow back-streets of the port district, in the neighbourhood of Duanes de la Mar.

Javea Lighthouse – Cap de San Antoni – Video

The figurative and literal highlight of Javea’s scenic views stands high above the town, looking out over the bay of Javea to the south, the gulf of Valencia to the north, the town of Denia and out in the distance on a clear day, the party island of Ibiza. A lighthouse sits atop Cap de San Antoni, the headland named in honour of Saint Antonio, way back in the 16th century.

The stunning rocky headland of Cap de la Nau Video

Cap de la Nau is the Valenciano name for a near vertical headland that divides the Gulf of Valencia from the Gulf of Alicante. In Spanish it is called Cabo de la Nao which roughly translates to Cape of the Ship in English. Directly offshore is the Balearic island of Formentera and is the nearest point on the mainland to Ibiza.
