Known for the bullfights, the world-class cuisine and its intoxicating culture, Spain is considered to be one of the top tourist destinations in the world. The country caters to hundreds of tourists flocking its shores year after year. But before you head out to this part of the world, here are some interesting facts that you should know about the country and Spanish culture that will make you appreciate that visit even more.
Many people may have noticed just how popular they have become with a whole host of friends and relatives since they made the move to Javea. This is all wonderful as you will get to see your loved ones at least once a year.
It’s almost that time of year again, when we dig out the flip flops, dust off the factor zero sizzle cream and start planning our summer jollies. The problem is that many of us have less disposable income than ever before, and are having to take the belts in a few notches at a time. We are making more cutbacks and making more savings than ever before, yet there is a distinct reluctance for us Brits to give up our holidays, we are just getting more savvy about saving money in this area too.
New homes construction booming along the Costa Blanca
The fact that the Alicante region saw an increase of over 300% of new homes during last year proves that the housing market in the Costa Blanca region is beginning to grow.
The news is full of the mass exodus from Spain as thousands of expats give up their dream of living in the sun and returning to blighty disheartened and disillusioned. According to the Spanish Government 250,000 foreign residents ‘fell off’ the Padron in 2016. That amounts to a huge number of people giving up on Spain and moving ‘home’.
The Northern Costa Blanca awoke this morning (January 19 2016) to a rare sight as snow covers not only the mountains but also the lower elevations including large parts of Javea.
Javea is a great place to select for a holiday. It has a vibrant, welcoming culture and plenty of great beaches to enjoy during the long, warm months. The town is also bustling with activities and there are plenty of places to eat and bars to keep you busy for weeks. Unfortunately this also makes it a very desirable destination for people from all over Europe and the rest of the world. As such, it does not offer the ‘cheap and cheerful’ accommodation found in other resort towns on the coast. Because of this, it is pretty important to take care and try to keep costs at a reasonable level.
Depending on the nature of an injury or the seriousness of the illness, you may be quicker making your own way to your nearest health centre. There is at least one Centro de Salud in each large town that has a twenty four hour ‘Urgencias’ department.
The protective sand dunes quickly erected a couple of weeks ago on Javea’s Arenal beach have now completed their job of both protecting the beachfront walkway and the buildings beyond, as well as stopping the sand being washed away to sea.
Javea has had a weekend of fairly severe weather ranging from high winds, huge continuous down-pores and large thunderstorms.
The Montgo Xabia Rock festival has confirmed some of the line-up for the May 12th and 13th 2017 concerts. The lead act so far confirmed is Leiva who was formally a member of Pereza.
